Welcome to the website of the Coming Out Women Support Group of Tacoma, WA. We are a gathering of women who meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, from 7 to 8:30 PM. We gather for the purpose of listening and sharing with one another as we walk together along our life paths as women-loving-women. Whether you can join us in person or if you live at such a distance that you can meet us only online, we welcome you.

Our subtitle is “AWE”: Authenticity, Wholeness, and Empowerment, as these are our ultimate goals. We value and progress towards:
AUTHENTICITY: being truly who we are;
WHOLENESS: being all of who we are; and
EMPOWERMENT: moving through life as healthy and strong-spirited women.

We are diverse in many ways—from our ages to living situations to degree of “out-ness.”
Yet together we embrace one important gift: that we are women-loving-women. Each of us finds that our primary attractions and most beautiful, meaningful relationships are with women. Some of us currently share such a relationship with a partner. Some have recently broken up. Some have never “been with a woman,” yet we know that our hearts, spirits, and passions dwell within a relationship with a woman. Many of us are (or have been) married to men--as we tried diligently to fulfill society’s (family, church, work) demand that we mold to fit into “the heterosexual box.” We may have lived to please others/ tried to meet their needs for many decades. Now is the time to be truly ourselves: AUTHENTIC, WHOLE, and EMPOWERED.
